The Rich Get Richer

We all know life isn't fair...but today I'd like to report to you that MTV and BET are joining forces to start a new channel targeted toward African American adults. It will be called "Centric," and it will directly compete with TV One.
Viacom, the media conglomerate behind BET and MTV, will of course be the parent company, which means the new channel wil be well-equipped to take on the black-owned TV One. Although TV One is superior in terms of programming, it's not doing well in terms of profitably, so we'll have to wait and see how this one plays out.
Viacom doesn't like to offer black ppl programs with substance, but you know ppl go for flash and style over substance any day.
However, here is a sample of the shows already in the works:
"Keeping Up with the Joneses," following high society in Houston; "Model City," following the lives of male models in Gotham; "Real Life Divas," a bio series on music stars; and "Urban Livin'", an interior design and home makeover series hosted by Helen Bailey.

What that sounded like to me: "A fake Real Housewives of Atlanta, a Next Top Model spinoff for guys, and a black HGTV show."

And in other news, BET will give that damn unfunny-ass Monique her own talk show....her radio show just got pulled off the air, but for some reason, ppl love that big bear of a woman, so here she is getting another chance.

The ball is in your court now, Cathy Hughes!

Miss D: I totally agree with you and even Master P is coming out with his Better Black Entertainment Channel. It seems that TV One is not getting the support it needs because as you mentioned we live in trash society where substance means nothing so that is what people go for. But hopefully, people will not fall for the same old foolishness on multiple channels owned by the same companies.
