You can list a million cowards who used their bodies to launch (or even revive) their careers...but you can't name many who made it by being decent, respectable women. (No, Oprah isn't a strong enough example to combat all the bad apples.)
This is just the latest example: Jenny McCarthy, whom say people say is funny, started as a Playboy "model." Now Oprah has given her a damn talk show! Aint that sum ish. The woman went from a naked skank to hosting "Singled Out" on MTV...now she's about to make Oprah money. *smh*

Miss D: Being the type of person who has a not so nice past, but has changed so much that people can't stand to hear me even say the things I used to do because it is so far removed from what I came from, I can understand Ophrah giving her a chance at being a talk show host. You have to remember that that is what Ophrah does: she brings people out and makes a boat load of money even if the show is a bomb. Look at the time she brought out Gayle and Iyanla Van Zant. THe were great to me, but there shows bombed. So I believe in second chances and I always believe that being a phenomenal woman means shaking your past off and starting brand new with a new attitude and new connections, like Ophrah.
Hmm....i guess that last sentence hit home for me. I feel you, surabi. ANd i appreciate you taking the time to comment.
You mentioned that ppl cant stand to hear u say certain things becaues of ur past...In many ways, Its easier to be yourself around new ppl because old ppl always try to remind u of who you used to be...they have a hard time accepting who u r now and getting over who u were. or who they thought u were. im dealing with some of that now.
