As you know people tend to mark major life events with a random act of wildness: i.e. cutting your hair after a bad breakup, going skydiving on your 21st b-day, buying a sports car to cure that mid-life crisis, etc....
With that said, I'm considering a tattoo. But I just can't think of anything I'd like to see on my body FOREVER....so for those of u who have tatts, what did you get and why/where? For those who don't, why not??
I'll tell you this; Im contemplating something small behind my ear...once my hair is long enough to cover it, it won't be hood!

I got a cross on my upper arm and a gemini symbol on my collar bone. I figured i'd be down with jesus for life and i'll always be a gemini... unless they change up the astrology symbols. I got them in those places so they wouldn't be visible at work. I'm considering getting one on my leg. when i get the money, it will happen. Godspeed

The thing about tatoos are that they are fashionable right now but will they be fashionable in ten years?? Some people have so many tatoos that they can not get them REMOVED when the tad is over... and black people scar differently so the removal process is NOT pretty for most of them when they decide that the little heart shaped tatoo on her cheek is keeping her from getting past round one in a job interview!!
I even knew a minister who had three degrees and COULD NOT get hired by any church because the tatoo was in a visible spot and she had gotten it when she was an undergrad...now in her early 30s and and trying to make a career change...and finding out that EVERY one does not think tatoos are hip and will not think it looks professional...
So for the tatoo lovers out there... do your think... but just remember that MANY career paths still prefer a tatoo-less work force...
